Dr Hatem Algraffee is recognised as a specialist in periodontics (the treatment of gum disease) by the General Dental Council.
He is very knowledgeable and experienced in the treatment of the soft tissues in the mouth. The first consultation will include a very thorough assessment, measurement of the gum pocketing and important advice as to necessary improved home care techniques. He will explain clearly the causes as well as the solutions to any periodontal problems.
His treatments have a very high success rate ñ he frequently achieves positive results for patients who have had gum treatment with limited success elsewhere.
Like all his colleagues here he is very careful to ensure that all his treatment is carried out painlessly, using very effective local anaesthesia. He has a kind, gentle and encouraging manner, and his patients find his explanations and instructions easy to follow.
Hatem qualified from the Royal Dental Hospital in 1996, followed later by a four-year specialist training programme in periodontology and implantology at Guy’s Hospital, and two master degrees from the University of London.
He also runs PerioAcademy certified courses for dentists.
