Dentures are prosthetic teeth used to replace a tooth, or teeth that have been lost as a result of decay, injury or gum disease. Dentures can be either full or partial, depending on your needs.
Full dentures are used to replace a full arch or set of teeth and sit over your gums on an acrylic base. Partial dentures are used when only one or a few teeth need replacement. In this case, they are fitted to the natural teeth on either side of the denture.
Here at SmileMaker Dental Care, we’ll always do everything we can to try and save your natural teeth but sometimes replacement is the only option.
If this is the case, we always recommended replacing teeth that have been lost. Dentures not only help with maintaining a healthy and happy smile, but they’ll help you eat and talk more easily.
Dentures can last up to ten years. With good care at home and regular check-ups with your dentist, we should be able to help you maintain your dentures well into the future.
This is a relatively simple process that first involves getting an impression made here at SmileMaker Dental Care. We’ll then send this impression off to a lab technician who will make up your dentures for you.
In some cases, patients need to have some teeth removed before getting their dentures, in which case we’ll do that here too. You’ll return to the practice when your dentures are ready, and we’ll fit them for you.
We offer wrinkle correction consultation as part of our range of facial aesthetic treatments.
